01 / The concept

Protection at the face.
Grip from within.

STOPSHOT is designed to cover the flange face during abrasive blasting. A knob operates an internal radial expanding grip, while a sacrificial mild steel disc provides the replaceable face component.

The device is reusable; the disc is replaceable. An optional gasket can be considered as part of the application review.

The design scope is NPS 8 and smaller. Suitability, size and fit must be confirmed individually—this is not a statement of a verified fit range or current stock availability.

02 / The approach

A straightforward concept.
Three key stages.

A high-level look at the design, not installation or operating instructions.

01 — POSITION

Align with the flange face.

Position the protector for the intended flange application after confirming suitability and fit.

02 — GRIP

Tighten the radial grip.

The knob operates the internal radial expanding grip to hold the protector in position.

03 — INSPECT

Remove. Inspect. Replace.

After use, remove the protector and inspect its condition, including the sacrificial disc and any optional gasket. Replace parts as needed.

Application-specific instructions and suitability review are needed before use. This overview does not replace your shop’s operating procedures.

03 / Design details

Purposeful parts.
A reusable approach.

01 / REPLACEABLE FACE

Sacrificial mild steel disc

A replaceable disc forms the face component, separate from the reusable device.

02 / INTERNAL RETENTION

Knob-operated expanding grip

An internal radial expanding grip is operated with a knob. Fit is reviewed for the intended application.

03 / APPLICATION OPTIONS

Optional gasket

A gasket is optional, not a required feature of every configuration. Its use is considered for the application.

04 / DEFINED SCOPE

NPS 8 and smaller

The current design scope focuses on NPS 8 and smaller. Individual sizing and fit require confirmation.

04 / Common questions

Before we talk shop.

Will STOPSHOT fit my flange?

The design scope is NPS 8 and smaller, but that does not establish compatibility with every flange in that range. Size, fit and suitability need to be confirmed for your application.

Is the whole device disposable?

No. The device is reusable and uses a replaceable sacrificial mild steel disc. Condition should be inspected after use, including any replaceable parts.

Is a gasket required?

No. A gasket is optional. Whether it is appropriate depends on the application and configuration.
